Listen: you’re flawed. I know that sounds like a bit of a rough way to start this kind of thing but being imperfect is itself a quality, a compliment, an acknowledgment that whether you’re at your worst or best you still fit into the category human, the species capable of the greatest good and greatest evil. Let’s call it exceptional.
In spite of any issues, though, you strive always to be a good person. You like to have fun but you’re always willing to acknowledge when you’ve wronged someone, intentionally or otherwise. You can be judgmental but you know when your mind is making condemnations your soul can never abide.
The second biggest part of being human–right after all that Potential–is taking better advantage of it, and you’re constantly looking to improve. It’s easy to fall into a rut but you look to learn more and tread softly and teach what you’re lucky enough to know. You’ve even made an effort to rein in some of your worst habits.
And of course you look cute in sweaters.
You’ll never be perfect, but you’ve become someone worth knowing and loving and I am proud to be a part of you.
